Subject: Clarification on news regarding gas leakage in Mab Ta Phut area

To: The President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand

Reference is made to news reported on 12 December 2009, regarding gas leakage from unidentifiable source in Mab Ta Phut industrial estate area. GLOW would like to clarify that there was no gas leakage from any of our power plant sites or our gas piping system.

 

On the morning of 12 December 2009, smell of unidentifiable gas was detected at GLOW's site and nearby area. As a precautionary measure, GLOW exercised the emergency response plan by evacuating from the site our and contractors' staff working outdoor. Nevertheless, three of GLOW's construction contractors were exposed to the gas and quickly admitted to the hospital. They were released from the hospital later on the same day. However, no other GLOW staff or assets were affected by this incident.
